hAlo

Hi guys..4 this time,I want to share something with all of you, something quite interesting and something beneficial information to look into that rarely happen in our country. It is called HALO, that consist of beautiful circular colored light or sometimes white arcs and one of the optical phenomenon that produced by ice crystals up up in the sky..

Mostly Halo occur near the sun or moon but others are elsewhere and even in the opposite part of the sky. They can also form around artificial lights in very cold weather when ice crystals called diamond dust are floating in the nearby air.
There are many types of ice halos. They are produced by the ice crystals in cirrus clouds high (5–10 km, or 3–6 miles) in the upper Troposphere. The particular shape and orientation of the crystals is responsible for the type of halo observed. Light is reflected and refracted by the ice crystals and may split up into colors because of dispersion. The crystals behave like prisms and mirrors, refracting and reflecting sunlight between their faces, sending shafts of light in particular directions.
For your information, Halos were used as part of weather knowledge / tools as an empirical means of weather forecasting before Meteorology was developed.
For your own safety, if you want to observed this thing, make sure you use sunlight protector and don`t look directly for too long..Or you also can observe via behind other big object such as tree or building..These precaution are importants to ensure your eyesight are well-protected and at the same time you can enjoy looking this beautiful God`s creation...Love our mother nature...-Peace- :)
